WHY IT FOLLOWS YOU HOME
It Is Not the Job. It Is the Mechanism.
A free live session for senior leaders who manage their time well, work hard and still never feel ahead.
Tuesday 28th July | 7:00pm BST | 1 hour | Live on Zoom
You hold it together during the day. The decisions get made. The problems get managed. The results are there.
And then you get home. And something comes through the door with you.
Not dramatically. Not in a way you could easily name. But the patience is shorter than it should be. Part of you is still at the desk. The conversation your partner wants to have has to wait until you have decompressed and sometimes the decompression never quite arrives.
The people at home have noticed, even if nobody has said so.
Most men assume this is a work problem. That if the job were less demanding, or better managed, this would stop. What they find, when they look at it properly, is that it is not the job at all. It is what the job has done to the system. And the system comes home with you regardless.
This session explains what is actually happening. And what changes it.
What you will leave with
A clear picture of why the pressure follows you home and why it has nothing to do with how much you care or how hard you work.
An understanding of why the things you have already tried, the holidays, the gym, the decision to switch off at seven, have helped temporarily and then stopped.
One thing you can start doing this week that begins to change the pattern rather than just manage it.
This session is for you if:
You get home and you are physically there but not quite present and you can feel the difference even when you cannot explain it
The people at home are getting what is left after the day has taken what it takes
You have tried to leave work at work and found that something always travels with you
The things you have tried have helped for a bit and then stopped working
You suspect the answer is not simply about working less but you are not sure what it is about
