Helping You Overcome

Anxiety & PTSD

You can be rid of anxiety in 4 sessions

In whatever form it takes we follow my well-proven system/process to resolve the root cause and help you move onto a place of calm clarity where you can start to sleep better and take life in your stride. You won’t have to spend hours telling your story. You’ve probably already done that. It doesn’t help you and it doesn’t help me to go through lots of details.

Generally, anxiety can be broken into four main areas:

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Panic Attacks
  • Social Anxiety Disorder / Social Phobia

And whilst the classification can aid understanding, very often one aspect flows into the next

Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

Anxiety makes everyday things like going out, driving, and socialising feel like drama.

Anxiety attaches itself to our good thoughts and, if we resist, develops into Panic Attacks.  So the racing heart, feeling faint and fearful thoughts begin.

The distress of Anxiety is NEVER permanent; we can remove it in 4 weeks with Clinical Hypnotherapy.

So with me here to help, look forward to being free of Anxiety & Panic Attacks.

You may be constantly worrying

You may anticipate problems at every turn

You may have low self-esteem or feel insecure

You may struggle to feel still or calm

Testimonials

I have suffered on and off with anxiety for many years. When COVID hit I was sent a letter saying due to our genetic condition my children were classed as vulnerable and we weren’t allowed to leave the house at all, so we didn’t. When everything reopened I wasn’t prepared for it. Anxiety hit, I had a panic attack collecting my anxiety medication from the pharmacy I was sweating, nauseous and breathing too quickly from nowhere. This was just the beginning, I stopped going out and feared social situations because of this. At the beginning of 2021, I knew this needed to change and I reached out to Charles for help. It was amazing how quickly the therapy began to work, I was able to start getting my life back, visiting friends and family and even clients for work. This would not have been possible without Charles and the work we did together. My confidence improved, I began setting healthy boundaries and the panic attacks have stopped. It has literally been life-changing. I was worried that I would become completely agoraphobic and never leave the house again if I didn’t get help.

Anxiety is NEVER permanent.

How do we remove anxiety?

10 years ago, we were told anxiety was forever, stuck…we just had to cope with it….exist with it; Anxiety wasn’t fully understood.

Today, we know how anxiety causes panic attacks, how anxiety starts and how to help anxiety to the extent we can completely remove anxiety, panic attacks, palpitations, feeling faint…everything.

We don’t use talking therapy for anxiety.  Talking about it does NOT remove the cause of anxiety or stop the panic attacks.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is most effective for anxiety as it allows the mind to release the cause.  Release the cause and the panic attacks stop first, then the rest fades over the next 2-4 weeks.

The worse anxiety is, the more willing the mind is to release the cause.  Read that again!  The worse it is… the quicker it goes.

You will most likely be feeling waves of uneasiness or dread, over-worrying about life in general. You might be finding it difficult to calm your worries, or feel that your anxiety has a grip on you. You may be tired or grumpy due to poor sleep, your self-esteem may be wavering, and you will have difficulty focusing on normal daily activities. Anxiety hypnosis can lift you from anxiety to a bright new you.

Who wouldn’t want that?

What are the different types of anxiety?

Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

You will most likely be feeling waves of uneasiness or dread, over-worrying about life in general. You might be finding it difficult to calm your worries, or feel that your anxiety has a grip on you. You may be tired or grumpy due to poor sleep, your self-esteem may be wavering, and you will have difficulty focusing on normal daily activities. Anxiety hypnosis can lift you from anxiety to a bright new you.

Panic Attacks

Are you experiencing sudden, overwhelming and repeated attacks of fear? These panic attacks may be happening once a month, or a few times a week. They will most likely make you feel dizzy, nauseous and breathless. You might be avoiding particular situations that trigger your panic attacks at work or in your personal life. Hypnotherapy for panic attacks can help reduce them. Please note, panic attacks are not dangerous, though tightness in your chest or palpitations can mimic a heart attack.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

You are likely to be having frequent, unwanted thoughts or urges (obsessions) that are making you intensely anxious. As a result, you may be feeling the need to repeat a certain behaviour or ritual (compulsion) over and over again, to give you temporary relief from your anxiety. Is OCD becoming a never-ending pattern that is dominating your life? OCD is common but very difficult to overcome without support, so please don’t delay your therapy any longer. Help is literally just around the corner!

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Sadly, you will have had a very frightening or distressing experience that is now having a big impact on your mental health and happiness. You are likely to be having flashbacks or nightmares, re-living the event. PTSD can make you feel scared, guilty and isolated, irritable and unable to sleep properly. This anxiety disorder may happen immediately after the traumatic experience, or months or even years later. Help is at hand.

Social Anxiety Disorder / Social Phobia

This is more than just shyness – it is an intense fear of social situations. Do you feel extremely anxious or self-conscious when you have to talk to people, or give a presentation, or even eat in public? Maybe you try to avoid social activities in case you look incompetent or feel judged. You might experience physical symptoms of anxiety like sweating, trembling or nausea when faced with a social situation. My anxiety hypnotherapy in Kent is a natural, non-medical treatment that re-balances and calms your inner self.

Effective Anxiety management - Woman suffering with anxiety

What is Anxiety?

When our body feels threatened it activates the sympathetic nervous system. Initially, this triggers powerful chemicals such as adrenaline and noradrenaline to be released. This in turn leads to a cascade of changes to increase our mental alertness and physical capabilities to enable us to respond better to the perceived threat.

At low levels, this can be helpful since it promotes engagement and activity, but when this becomes acute this cascade of responses is proportionally stronger and prepares us to physically fight off the threat, or run away from it (the ‘fight or flight response’).

Way back in time, this acute response to a perceived threat may well have been appropriate, where a physical response to fight off some predator was essential. There are times when this can be useful, such as if there is an angry dog chasing us down the road where a boost of physical energy will help you get away from any danger.

But unfortunately for us, modern life introduces a whole load of stimuli that we perceive as threats – having a performance appraisal at work, for example – where the changes brought about by the fight or flight response are of no use at all. Our body prepares us for action, but we can’t act. So instead of discharging this energy and returning us to a state of alert relaxation, our bodies remain in a state of high alert. And for many, these perceived threats keep on coming.

To compound this problem, many of us are immersed in an environment – caring alone for a dying parent or demanding child, navigating the challenges of the workplace – where those perceived threats just keep on coming, and where there is nothing we can reasonably do to get away from them.

In instances where the short term stress response cannot be acted upon, levels of the hormone cortisol rise, resulting in anxiety, frustration and anger.

When this persists, it results in chronic activation of the stress response system and the concurrent high levels of cortisol have negative health consequences. In such an environment, the many physiological processes that the body undertakes to ensure we thrive in the long term – sleep, digestion, immunity, growth, play – are suppressed. It also has detrimental effects on our emotional wellbeing, limiting our ability to think slowly and clearly, darkening our perspective on the world and reducing our ability to maintain loving relationships.

Collectively, these effects are what we recognise as anxiety. Anxiety is currently prevalent in UK society – around 10% of us are suffering from an anxiety disorder (MIND) at any one time, with women being almost twice as likely to suffer from it as men.

How Can I Help?

My aim, through hypnotherapy for anxiety, is to re-balance the sympathetic and the parasympathetic parts of your nervous system (the key to how to stop anxiety). This will in turn make you feel calmer and more able to actively engage with life again, unlocking your true potential.

To put it simply: When you come to ask for my help with anxiety, we will delve into the root of whatever it is that is bothering you. We will then make sense of it together, deciding on the best and fastest route to re-balance and recovery

Let’s Do Something About It

Early on we will calibrate where you are so we can track your progress.

We’ll explore in as much depth as you feel comfortable with, what you feel has contributed to or caused your problem and look at ways in which we can release that so that, from the beginning, we are focused on changing your mindset.

We’ll use a variety of modern therapeutic approaches to assist in this process and I’ll teach you tools and techniques to last a lifetime as we move you forward to living life with ease and confidence.
